Super Green Tropical Smoothie

Green smoothie made with banana, pineapple, kiwi, baby spinach, micro greens, hemp seed and spirulina and garnished with a pineapple slice.

It is recommended to get 4-6 cups of greens a day! If that sounds intimidating then try this super green smoothie recipe which is packed with 2 cups of greens, in addition to other powerhouse ingredients. This tropical tasting smoothie is packed with anti-inflammatory and anti-aging ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup plant-based milk (I like unsweetened coconut, boxed not canned)
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 kiwi (washed and unpeeled)
  • 1 slice of pineapple (core included); about 1/2 cup cubed (or mango)
  • 1 cup of baby spinach
  • 1/41/2 cup broccoli microgreens
  • 1 teaspoon spirulina
  • 1 tablespoon hemp seed
  • 1 scoop vegan vanilla protein powder*
  • 1/2 cup ice

Instructions

Add all of the ingredients into a high speed blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

Notes

  • If you don’t want to include protein powder then I recommend using a whole frozen banana
  • Be sure to use microgreens or broccoli microgreens. Do not use microgreens which have arugula or your smoothie will have an unpleasant taste. If you don’t want that much “green” then start with 1/4 cup of broccoli microgreens.
  • You don’t have to peel the kiwi! The kiwi peel provides extra nutrients and fiber!
